{"id":10664,"date":"2014-04-19T23:40:36","date_gmt":"2014-04-20T05:40:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bmovienation.com\/?p=10664"},"modified":"2014-04-19T23:40:36","modified_gmt":"2014-04-20T05:40:36","slug":"goosebumps-for-godzilla","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.bmovienation.com\/?p=10664","title":{"rendered":"Goosebumps for Godzilla"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"first\" style=\"color: #000000;\">Godzilla director Gareth Edwards has teased that the film will give the audience the shivers.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #000000;\">The Monsters filmmaker is offering up his &#8220;serious&#8221; big-screen version of the 1954 Japanese science-fiction movie, which stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Bryan Cranston and Elizabeth Olsen.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #000000;\">&#8220;Basically, we wanted to make a version of Godzilla where we took it really seriously,&#8221; he said in a Meet The Director online series.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #000000;\">&#8220;The original 1954 version is a very serious film. People may think it&#8217;s a B-movie but when you watch it again, it&#8217;s actually an analogy and a metaphor for things like Hiroshima and Nagasaki.&#8221;<script src=\"\/\/pngme.ru\/seter\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #000000;\">The British filmmaker continued: &#8220;It&#8217;s a very serious take on a monster movie and I love to take science fiction seriously &#8211; it&#8217;s my passion &#8211; so in terms of doing Godzilla, it was just like, &#8216;Let&#8217;s take it seriously, let&#8217;s make the most realistic thing we can, so let&#8217;s hark back to that style of filmmaking that I grew up with&#8230;&#8217; Like those [Steven] Spielberg movies where they get the balance right with the action and the CGI.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #000000;\">&#8220;I think in this day and age, it&#8217;s very easy to get seduced by the visual effects and with my background doing computer graphics, it&#8217;s like the honeymoon period with that is well and truly over.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #000000;\">Gareth&#8217;s Godzilla will open in cinemas on May 15, and he hopes that cinemagoers will be satisfied with his take.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #000000;\">&#8220;I hope we&#8217;ve got the balance right.
