{"id":11455,"date":"2014-06-19T22:37:02","date_gmt":"2014-06-20T04:37:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bmovienation.com\/?p=11455"},"modified":"2014-06-19T22:37:02","modified_gmt":"2014-06-20T04:37:02","slug":"all-cheerleaders-die","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.bmovienation.com\/?p=11455","title":{"rendered":"\u2018All Cheerleaders Die,\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Low-budget filmmakers Lucky McKee and Chris Sivertson have become known for making female-centric horror movies, and that continues with \u201cAll Cheerleaders Die,\u201d in which a group of high-school pom-pom shakers returns from the dead to take revenge on some particularly hateful football players who treat girls (and everyone else) like objects.<\/p>\n<p>The tone is somewhat \u201cMean Girls\u201d-snarky, and while there are some effective moments early on \u2014 especially when Maddy (Caitlin Stasey), Tracy (Brooke Butler) and the rest of the squad, before their deaths, confront star player\/heartthrob\/jerk Terry (a suitably charming yet threatening Tom Williamson) and his team in the woods \u2014 \u201cAll Cheerleaders Die\u201d sinks under the weight of predictable plotting and cheap special effects. Thanks to one of the friends (Sianoa Smit-McPhee) being a witch, the cheerleaders come back as some sort of flesh-eating vampire\/zombie-like creatures with a need to feed \u2014 while still looking absolutely great in their uniforms.<\/p>\n<p>Though McKee and Sivertson are wise to stay within the B-movie rule that such a film shouldn\u2019t be more than 90 minutes, it feels longer.
