Fred Williamson was born on March 5th, 1938 in Gary, Indiana and prior to his acting career, he was a professional football player. He played for the Oakland Raiders, Pittsburg Steelers, San Francisco 49ers and the Kansas City Chiefs. After graduating from Froebel High School in 1955 he went on to play college football for Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, graduating in 1959.<\/p>\n
Williamson has achieved a great amount in the acting industry. He went on to work not only as an actor, but also a director, writer and producer. In addition he has also held a career as an architect, prior to pursuing acting.<\/p>\n
His acting career began with appearances on the television series, “Ironside” (1968), “The Outsider”, “Star Trek” and a recurring role on the series, “Julia”. Soon he was also appearing in such feature films as, “That Man Bolt” (1973), “Black Caesar” (1973), “Three the Hard Way” (1974), “Crazy Joe” (1974) and “Mean Johnny Barrows” (1976). <\/p>\n
As his career progressed he added a number of successful film roles to his resume such as, “Take a Hard Ride” (1975), “One, Down, Two to Go” (1982), “Original Gangstas” (1996) and “On the Edge” (2002). <\/p>\n
In addition to acting, in 1974, he started his own production company called, “Po ‘Boy Productions which to date has produced over forty films. Some of the films he has directed include, “Adios Amigo” (1976), “Death Journey” (1976), “The Big Score” 91983), “Three Days to Kill” (1992), “On the Edge” (2002) and “Vegas Vampires” (2003) among others. <\/p>\n
More recent appearances include roles in the films, “From Dusk Till Dawn” (1996), “Starsky & Hutch” (2004), “Zombie Apocalypse: Redemption” (2011), “Dropping Evil” (2012), “The Voices from Beyond” (2012), “Last Ounce of Courage” (2012), “Beyond Control” (2012), “The Gold Rush Boogie” (2013) and “Life Outside” (2013).<\/p>\n
Fred Williamson has married only once to his current wife Linda and they remain together today and he continues working as an actor and director in Hollywood. <\/p>\n
