{"id":7542,"date":"2013-07-01T13:22:18","date_gmt":"2013-07-01T19:22:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bmovienation.com\/?p=7542"},"modified":"2013-07-01T13:22:18","modified_gmt":"2013-07-01T19:22:18","slug":"sammy-terry-of-nightmare-theater-dies-at-83","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bmovienation.com\/?p=7542","title":{"rendered":"Sammy Terry of &#8216;Nightmare Theater&#8217; dies at 83"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Bob Carter, who went by Sammy Terry while hosting a late-night scary movie on Indianapolis television from the 1960s into the 1980s, died Sunday, a spokesman for American Senior Communities confirmed.<\/p>\n<p>Carter, who was 83, had been a resident of one of the communities for several years.<\/p>\n<p>From 1962 to 1989, Carter introduced horror flicks on Channel 4\u2019s \u201cNightmare Theater,\u201d later called \u201cShock Theater.\u201d He did it with style, beginning each show by climbing out of a coffin wearing extremely heavy make-up and a dark cape and skull cap arrangement. His sidekick was a pet spider named George.
