“If there was something I would like to work on again, it would be Honshu’s movies, maybe. Or a horror movie, perhaps,” Quentin Tarantino told The Independent.
The director who has been known for working on the serial killer film “Kill Bill” would like to try is chance on something new and has put the movie behind him.
“There are no genres I absolutely want to do any more, like ticking boxes: ‘This, done’. I don’t think about Kill Bill 3 that much, as… we already visited them,” Tarantino revealed.
However with the recent turn of events Quentin Tarantino’s next movie has just been cancelled. Reports came in that the award winning director will be filming “The Hateful Eight” a movie based on the 1960’s film “The Magnificent Seven,” which was inspired by the Japanese film Seven Samurai.
However, as stated before there is no guarantee that this film will ever make it to the big screen, true enough QT announced that he will not proceed, instead he will just publish the script.
What may the reason be? Well QT has just learned that the screenplay for his supposed next film was leaked and that made him not just angry but depressed.
“I’m very, very depressed,” the Oscar winning director told Deadline. “I finished a script, a first draft, and I didn’t mean to shoot it until next winter, a year from now. I gave it to six people, and apparently it’s gotten out today.”
He learned that the script for his next film was leaked when his long time agent Mike Simpson began getting calls from Hollywood agents keen to pitch their clients for roles in the said film.
“I gave it to one of the producers on Django Unchained, Reggie Hudlin, and he let an agent come to his house and read it,” Tarantino said.
“That’s a betrayal, but not crippling because the agent didn’t end up with the script. There is an ugly maliciousness to the rest of it. I gave it to three actors: Michael Madsen, Bruce Dern, Tim Roth. The one I know didn’t do this is Tim Roth. One of the others let their agent read it, and that agent has now passed it on to everyone in Hollywood. I don’t know how these fucking agents work, but I’m not making this next. I’m going to publish it, and that’s it for now. I give it out to six people, and if I can’t trust them to that degree, then I have no desire to make it. I’ll publish it. I’m done. I’ll move on to the next thing. I’ve got 10 more where that came from.”
At least he will not be retiring anytime soon as opposed to the statement he made saying that he’d want to call it quits after doing 10 movies, during the round up of “Django Unchained.”
“OK, it would sound really cool because it’s a round number and it would make sense as I would have made three movies per decade, but it’s not fixed in time. I still have some more things to do before being done with movies,” he admitted.
The Kill Bill 3 movie speculations started during The Vega Brothers spinoff, where QT teased that the third installment of the Kill Bill franchise will feature revenge from Nikki Green after witnessing the death of her mother in Volume 1.
Some also speculated that the sequel would feature Sofie Fatale and Elle Driver.
Well, now that the hopes for any upcoming Kill Bill 3 movie have been crashed, fans could just wait for an uncut version of Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair to surface on Blu-ray, hopefully.
But, nothing is final though, we could still hope that Tarantino would change his mind just like how he changed his mind on retiring from making movies. Perhaps if fans would be more vocal in expressing their desire on seeing Kill Bill 3 movie hitting theaters, Tarantino would reconsider.
As for now, all we can do is hope (at least for those who wanted to see Uma Thurman in her amazingly ninja moves again, who wouldn’t want to by the way).
