They Still Call Me Bruce (1987)

Bruce Won arrives in America in search of an American G.I. who saved his life in the Korean War. He meets an orphan boy and together they land themselves in a string of outrageous situations. This high-strung farce culminates when a case of mistaken identity leads a gang of thugs to think Bruce is a karate master. They arrange a nationally-televised match which pits our hero against a monstrous brute, and Bruce is beaten to a bloody pulp…

They Still Call Me Bruce is sequel to comedy classic They Call Me Bruce and even though I enjoy the first film immensely ,this is way better and funnier .Bruce is looking for private Brown , who saved his life in Korea and gave him a cowboy boot.Johnny Yune( Bruce )wrote, starred and co directed this film and hats off to him ,as the film still makes me laugh 25 years later. While looking for private Brown , Bruce gets himself in trouble and becomes an instructor at a martial arts studio. Knowing no martial arts in no problem for Bruce as he’s got good game. In the last film he was a buffoon, well I guess that didn’t change. This time Bruce gets to be a hero, taking on Ogre from Revenge Of The Nerds in the tournament at the end of the film .Bruce (and his stuntman) sock it to him, as he saves McCleans studio, busts the bad guys, finds private Brown and gets the girl. Also Bruce befriends a student who lives in a juvenile home with his dog Kato, which was also seen in Stallone flick Over The Top.Classic.
