Doctor Who star have been heading out to Spain to film an episode for the latest series of the Sci-fi drama.
After a number of guest stars were reported yesterday for the new series, along with a fleeting mention that a Wild West themed episode would feature in the seventh season this autumn.
It seems that the cast have headed out to Spain to film the episode in the same location used for many Spaghetti Westerns such as A Fistful of Dollars and The Magnificent Seven.
This is not the first time the Doctor has found himself out in cowboy country as the First Doctor, William Hartnell became embroiled in a shootout at the OK Corral all the way back I 1966.
This time the Doctor will be up against human-androids in a Western town during the Victorian Era. Good God I can hardly wait already and know virtually nothing about it yet.
As for the filming location, the Doctor will be in good company as over 100 westerns were filmed in Almeria, Spain, as the pre-fab streets, including a local Saloons, are the perfect replica of the Old West. Following the likes of Clint Eastwood, Steve McQueen and Charles Bronson down the Almeria streets, Matt Smith’s Time Lord has some big boots to fill, but there is little doubt that he will do so with usual joyful frivolity.
