Meir Zarchi – Director – I Spit on Your Grave: Deja Vu

“Jamie represents a natural talent, whose work ethic comes from a strong Mid-Western upbringing.”
Jan O’Connell – Producer/Line Producer – I Spit on Your Grave: Deja Vu

Originally from Kankakee, Illinois about 70 miles outside of Chicago, Jamie Bernadette had strong family values instilled in her while growing up.  She learned at a young age that life can be a struggle especially since she sadly lost her father when she was just four months old.  Her mother was left raising nine children on her own with Jamie being the youngest.  It was a trying time for the entire family, but that just made them closer.   Jamie’s experiences prepared her to handle anything and today she is a self-sufficient woman that appreciates life, takes nothing for granted, and has a wonderful personality.   Best is that she never lost that family bond, as she makes sure to visit her family in Illinois as much as possible.

“Her instincts, whether it be Comedy or Drama are always on the mark.”
Scott Wheeler – Director – Sinbad and the War of the Furies

Jamie’s actress instincts began at the age of six when she would act out scenes while watching movies and when she wasn’t acting she was writing.  With a passion of acting and writing, Jamie took her destiny into her own hands and relocated to Hollywood.  Since then, she has been in dozens of films and recently produced a script she co-wrote, the thriller/horror The 6th Friend.

Listed below are just a few highlighted films and TV series Jamie stars in, including details from colleagues about working with her.  For a complete list of her films go to her IMDB Page www.imdb.com/name/nm2584117

Camille Keaton, Meir Zarchi, and Jamie Bernadette

I Spit on Your Grave: Deja Vu
The only sequel that shares the characters as well as continuity with the iconic original 1978 motion picture Day of the Woman, aka I Spit on Your Grave.  What does legendary Director Meir Zarchi have to say about Jamie who is starring in his sequel?  “Jamie Bernadette is surreal, intuitive, electrifying, and beautiful.  Soon to be seen in the motion picture I Spit On your Grave – Deja Vu,” says Zarchi.

Producer Terry Zarchi and son of Meir brought Jamie on board for their film and has a deep admiration for her acting skills, “Jamie Bernadette is beautiful, mesmerizing, delicate yet powerful and really understands how to take on a role and grip it by the teeth,” tells Terry.

Jamie’s familiarity in the horror genre made her the perfect fit to play Christy Hills, the daughter of Jennifer Hills. “I had already seen the 1978 film I Spit on Your Grave long before I ever went in for my first audition and I had heard about it over and over in the film industry,” tells Jamie. “People reference the film all the time.  A lot of film students are required to watch it in film school as part of their studies, so it seems everyone in the film industry knows about the film.  After I was cast, I watched the film a few more times and read articles and watched videos about the film for weeks.”

Camille Keaton will once again play the iconic role of Jennifer Hills and having Jamie play the role of her daughter was special to her, “Jamie Bernadette is an amazing actress to work with. She knows her stuff!  She played my daughter in I Spit on Your Grave: Deja Vu.  We will be watching Jamie for a long time to come.”

Producer/Line Producer, Jan O’Connell for I Spit on Your Grave: Deja Vu, valued Jamie as an actress and person on set as she shares, “Jamie represents a natural talent, whose work ethic comes from a strong Mid-Western upbringing.  Not only a beautiful person outside but inside. She came prepared, never flinched, always on point and in character during the grueling 29 day shoot. I believe this role will launch her into a household name.”

O’Connell shares some additional details, “We just locked picture and we are working on post now.  I do believe it will be one of the most anticipated sequels in our decade. 40 years in the making, written & directed by Meir Zarchi to the original 1978 “SPIT” film. It’s been a labor of love from everyone who worked on the film, including Jamie Bernadette.”

Sinbad and the War of the Furies
On a treasure hunt gone wrong, modern-day adventurer Sinbad accidentally releases the Furies, three beautiful but terrible ancient beings powerful enough to threaten life on Earth.

Jamie previously starred in a couple comedies by The Asylum that were directed by Scott Wheeler.  Sinbad and the War of the Furies will be her first action adventure film by the Asylum and again directed by Wheeler as he talks about Jamie in his films, “Jamie has consistently been one of the most dependable, talented and fun people I have had the pleasure of working with.  Her instincts, whether it be Comedy or Drama are always on the mark.  Add to that her professionalism, beauty, easy going spirit and you have an actor I know will go far.”

Sinbad and the War of the Furies was written by Scotty Mullen and in addition to writing screenplays he has a vast experience as a Casting Director.  Jamie’s performance impressed Mullen and he will surely be seeking her out to cast in future films, “I recently cast Jamie in the film Sinbad and the War of the Furies, which I also wrote. Jamie is an intelligent actress whose charming personality and daring choices help her bring roles to life and make them uniquely her own. I hope I get to work with her again!”

The 6th Friend
Six college best friends throw their own private graduation party when the stoner of the group orders in a psychedelic from her drug dealer, who sticks around to join in their fun. Drugged and disoriented, the girls’ special night quickly becomes a dark, foggy nightmare of blood and violence. Five years later, the girls gather together once again in hopes of rekindling that close friendship that they once had, only to find themselves being hunted by who, or what, they do not know.

The story was created by Jamie and she wrote the first draft of the screenplay.  She hired Director Letia Clouston and Letia wrote the second draft.  In the following months they went back and forth numerous times rewriting the screenplay until it was perfect and ready to go into production.  Jamie also stars in the film and is one of the producers.  “I was so prepared for The 6th Friend that I didn’t find it hard to focus when I was in front of the camera. Juggling three jobs on set was a ton of responsibility and the hardest thing I’ve ever done, but when I’m acting, I’m acting. Of course it helped that I’d also co-written the script!” Jamie told Ian White of Movie Ramblings.

All Girls Weekend
Childhood friends try to rekindle their friendship during a weekend in the mountains. Soon the women get lost and now, alone and hungry, they must battle the elements, each other, and an unforeseen force that is determined to stop them from leaving.

Filmmaker Lou Simon’s latest horror, thriller, action, and drama film All Girls Weekend  is currently available and absolutely worth seeing.  The film is an all-female cast starring Jamie, Katie Carpenter, Gema Calero, Karishma Lakhani, and Sharron Calvin.  The film is much more than a girls’ in the woods horror.  There’s no killer or monster lurking in the woods.  It’s a survival horror film with a supernatural twist with a powerful message from Mother Nature.

It’s an all-female cast, a homage to one of my favorite horror films The Descent, says Simon.  Having Jamie as one of the stars was not the only benefit to Simon as she shares, “Jamie is the ultimate professional.  She was so easy to work with on All Girls Weekend, and she has been so great about helping promote the film afterwards.  Despite the fact that her career is really taking off, she has no ego and that is so rare to find in this industry.  I hope to work with her again one day, because she’s so incredibly talented and really one of the nicest people I’ve met in the business.”

State of Desolation
Jamie stars in and is one of the Producers for the highly anticipated drama post-apocalyptic zombie film Directed and Written by Jim Towns.  State of Desolation is a story about an unusual relationship forged between an aging mercenary and a young pampered suburbanite as they both try to survive the Apocalypse.  There are quality battles to survive the zombie apocalypse, but there’s also a dramatic relationship and development between characters that builds throughout.  Towns had the pleasure of directing Jamie and her professionalism on and off set thoroughly impressed him. “Jamie is a ferocious talent– unafraid and relentless in her pursuit for truth in her art,” shares Towns.  “She’s also that rare actor/producer who understands every facet of film production and is an invaluable creative partner to any filmmaker.”

Jamie plays the pampered suburban girl Claire and shares about her character, “Claire is a spoiled suburbanite, but she reveals some surprises in the film and we find out that her life isn’t as “perfect” as what it first appears.  She changes so quickly under the dire circumstances, becoming mentally and physically stronger throughout the film. She learns how to truly listen and care about other people, and, for the first time in her life, she lets go of all of the surface manifestations she has worn, letting us see her for who she really is.  She learns how to love, and be loved in return. We see her at her weakest moments and the strongest moments of her life during this apocalypse.”

The Bone Box
A grave robber comes to believe he’s being haunted by those he stole from.

Depressed and reeling from the recent death of his wife, Tom has built up quite a gambling debt. He goes to stay with his wealthy Aunt Florence in hopes that she will write him into her will. When a nasty creditor makes it clear that Tom is out of time, he devises a plan with Elodie, the undertaker’s daughter, to rob the graves of the rich townspeople buried in the cemetery across the road. After plundering the graves, Tom arrives back at Florence’s house and events take a dark turn. Tom begins hearing and seeing strange things that seem to coincide with the deaths of the people he robbed. Even more disconcerting… he appears to be the only one sensing the occurrences. One question lingers: Is Tom’s conscience playing a trick on him… or is he really being haunted by those he stole from?

Writer, Director, and Producer of The Bone Box Luke Genton appreciates Jamie’s ability to play a tough role when yet in reality she’s a genuinely nice person as he tells, “Jamie is very relaxed and friendly in person, but she believably embodies a tough and intimidating cop in my film The Bone Box. She has quite a presence on screen.”

Actress Maria Olsen has starred and appeared in endless films and TV including big budget, national commercials, and independent films.  She has worked with Jamie on multiple films including I Spit On Your Grave: Déjà Vu, Bunnyman Massacre, State of Desolation, and The Bone Box.  “Jamie is one of the most talented and dedicated actresses I’ve ever worked with,” tells Olsen. “There is nothing she won’t do for her craft, and she deserves to be recognized for this.”

Combining his expertise in filmmaking and music, Avildsen produced, wrote, and directed the upcoming and highly anticipated music/thriller/drama American Satan.  Ash’s directing skills can be contributed to learning from the best, he learned the art of directing from his father the legendary and Oscar winning director John Avildsen (Rocky, The Karate Kid, Neighbors, A Night in Heaven). John sadly passed away last June and Ash is proudly carrying the family name in the upcoming years with his films.

Joan Butler is an enforcer for a local mobster who is known for ruthless tactics and wild abandon. After she reconnects with her ex-boyfriend Anthony, a local social worker, she realizes that there is more to life and decides to quit the business. Slowly these dark forces attempt to subsume and corrupt Joan. Will she be able to overcome the dark forces and by effect save her own soul?

Todd Bartoo has made several successful shorts and Killing Joan will be his first feature film that he’s directed and wrote.  Bartoo wrote a complex screenplay and the film will keep the audience guessing throughout as there’s much more than a gangster thriller/supernatural film.   The film contains tons of action and Jamie being in top physical condition was necessary since she did her own stunts.  It’s common for Jamie to do her own stunts in films and she had a great experience in Killing Joan flying backwards through the air, jumping to incredible heights, and using her kills in the intense fight scenes.

Starring along with Jamie are Teo Celigo (The Impaler, The Gateway Life), David Carey Foster (The Mentalist, NCIS, Grey’s Anatomy), Erik Aude (Scorpion, Days of Our Lives), Erin O’Brien (Fight Valley, Jailbait).
