Dark Knight Receives Praise

NME reports that The Dark Knight Rises has received unanimous praise from early reviews by critics.

UK magazines Total Film and Empire each gave the film five stars. Total Film said it was a “smart, stirring spectacle”, while Empire called it “superhero filmmaking on an unprecedented scale”.

The Hollywood Reporter said: “This last instalment of Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy makes everything in the rival Marvel universe look thoroughly silly and childish.”

Variety’s review said that “global box office domination awaits”.

IGN wrote: “Christopher Nolan and his team have delivered the grandest, most emotional and superheroic chapter in their Batman saga.”

Indiewire gave the film a B, but added that it “remains viscerally satisfying even when the story falters”.

This comes after reports that early screenings were met with positive reactions from movie bloggers and that the movie itself received a standing ovation. The film also currently has 100% on Rotten Tomatoes. It will be released on July 20.
