Bamalama Poster Shop offers a cornucopia for movie buffs and music lovers alike. In this tiny place stacked away in Farringdon, you can find rare (and affordable) movie memorabilia and vintage posters guaranteed to brighten up even the dullest of rooms.

Run by the irrepressible John Brett, Bamalama prides itself of having a truly varied selection of originals movie posters, like the original 1980 French poster for ‘Rude Boy’, a film about a punk roadie for The Clash (see pic). Other treasures include posters for cult movies like John Waters ‘Polyester’ (1982 Spanish edition), Woody Allen’s ‘Annie Hall’ (1977 German edition), Herbert Ross’ 1977 take on ‘Sherlock Holmes’ (a stunning East European art-deco edition), or the film noir-hued, 1963 French edition of ‘Bunny Lake Is Missing’. That’s just the tip of the iceberg, for much, much more is in store. 1950’s B-movie trashics, 1960’s pychedelics, comedy, drama, Sci-Fi… every category finds a little home at Bamalama.

If you think you’re spoiled for choice when it comes to movie posters, I dare you to tackle the music posters section! From Bowie to The Who, from Bolan to The Damned, from 60’s pop psychedelia to punk ‘n’ new wave posters, from soul and jazz to reggae – you better take a lot of time along to browse to all these gems. Ok, and perhaps some cash, too.

But that’s not all. In addition, Bamalama offer a bespoke framing service and – better still – are throwing special events from time to time. Yes, I’m talking about those exhibition launches where you can spot luminaries from the world of rock sipping a drink in the corner, or even perform! Previous events played host to the likes of Mick Jones, or MC5’s John Sinclair kicking out the jams with Bermondsey Joyrider’s Gary Lammin.

To celebrate the past 40 years of Olympic Games from Munich 1972 – London 2012, Bamalama poster Gallery is proud to present an Exhibition and sale of posters, artefacts and souvenirs from the 1972 Munich Games including the pioneering designs of Otl Aicher with his unique graphics depicting each individual sporting discipline. The Exhibition will run from July 27th throughout the London 2012 Games.
