Chance To Be In A Troma Film

Troma Entertainment, a New York City based indiefilm studio that has made its name in the B-movie world of “The Toxic Avenger” and other sci-fi/horror films, has put out a casting call for a project expected to begin shooting this month in Buffalo and Niagara Falls.

The project, “The Return of the Class of Nuke ‘Em High,” is a third sequel to Troma’s 1986 cult film, “The Class of Nuke ‘Em High.” The new film will be directed by Troma president and co-founder Lloyd Kaufman (“The Toxic Avengers” films), who also wrote the previous two “Nuke ‘Em High” sequels).

In the original film, students at a high school next to a nuclear power plant start acting and looking strange after buying contaminated drugs from a plant worker.

The casting call says Troma is looking to fill featured roles, small parts and background performers. Every background actor will have the opportunity to participate in a free raffle for Troma DVDs, merchandise and other items.

Troma is particularly interested in people with a unique look, style or special ability. Young between between 18 and 21 years old who can pass as high school students are needed. Older actors are needed to play parents, teachers and factory workers.

Those interested, should send their name, age, phone number and recent photo to Zac@troma.com.

The original “Class of Nuke ‘Em High,” spawned two sequels. The 1991 film “Class of Nuke ‘Em High Part II: Subhumanoid Meltdown” takes the students to college at the rebuilt nuclear plant which now includes the Tromaville Institute of Technology. Three years later the story continued with “Class of Nuke ‘Em High 3: The Good, the Bad and the Subhumanoid” in which a long-lost son raised by thugs returns with a fiendish plot to turn Tromaville into a toxic wasteland.
