Wolfman Mac

Wolfman Mac is B-movie and horror aficionado Mac Kelly, host of “Chiller Drive-In,” a sitcom about a werewolf who owns a drive-in and shows classic horror and sci-fi films.

The show, produced in Pontiac at Erebus haunted attraction, is nationally syndicated on the Retro Television Network, which can be seen on WHNE in Flint or online via the Monster Channel.

Besides hosting “Chiller Drive-In,” Kelly keeps busy emceeing Halloween events, including Hellbent this weekend at the Russell Industrial Center. He’s also a wedding officiant.

We talk to Wolfman Mac about his favorite time of year.

You live the Halloween life all year round, don’t you?

For me, Halloween isn’t a holiday, it’s a lifestyle. My loft is decorated with what other people would call Halloween décor all year round. It just always made me happy. I love being scared. I love this time of year with the fall colors, cider mills, haunted houses, black and white monster movies on TV. There’s just nothing better.

You are hosting the art and music party Hellbent this weekend at the Russell Industrial Center in Detroit. What’s new this year?

Hellbent is one of the coolest Halloween parties in town. You’ve got awesome Halloween props all over the place, amazing sound and light system, Goth DJ, snake charmer, magic acts, horror rock and pole dancers.

The newest thing this year is the Zombie Carnival. Not going to give anything away, but you’re gonna dig it!

What else is on your calendar for Halloween week?

(Friday) I’ll be at the Great Baraboo in Clinton Township. Earlier in the day (on the Saturday) I’m marrying some couples at Erebus, then off to the Zombie walk in downtown Mount Clemens, then to Hellbent. Halloween night I’ll be marrying several couples at Erebus.

If anyone wants to get married, renew their vows, or do a commitment ceremony on Halloween, gimmie a howla!
