Twentieth Century Fox is already working on another installment of “Planet of the Apes,” but star James Franco spoke with MTV on Monday, Dec. 17 and said he was actually not going to be a part of it as far as he knows.
“I was going to be in a small part of the next one,” Franco tells MTV. “There was one scene, between Caesar and my character, maybe even just like on a video that was left behind, but then a lot of things happened. Like, [former Fox co-chairman] Tom Rothman, who was a big part of the first movie, left. Now Rupert’s [former director Rupert Wyatt] not a part of it so I don’t know.”
The studio is going for a May 23, 2014 release for “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes,” so they should have contacted Franco by now.
“My guess is I won’t be in it. Nobody’s talked to me since Rupert left,” Franco tells MTV.
