Voodoo (1995)

Andy comes to campus in order to be close to his girlfriend Rebecca. Since he needs a place to stay he joins one of the college fraternities. However, a strange looking man warns him that the fraternity is just a cover-up for the weird voodoo cult. COREY FELDMAN stars as ANDY CHADWAY who transfers to another college so that he can be close to his girlfriend who is attending there. Andy soon falls into a fraternity that is actually composed of Voodoists that steal corpses in the middle of the night, poke little wax dummies with pins, you know that kind of thing & kills students they don’t like. When Andy tries to escape the cult, they come after him & his girlfriend, his only hope is to learn enough voodoo from an old man who’s son fell prey to the cult, to combat these cold blooded killers. When the word VOODOO is conjured up in a horror title, it usually means lots of walking zombies & sacrifices by voodoists on an island, but this one swung the other way & set it’s chills in a modern day college campus, the film has several plot twists up it’s sleeve & has some pretty nifty scenes in it, one of which has the leader of the group showing off his power by getting one of the rival fraternity guys to slaughter all his friends with a shot gun, that said, the film may not appeal to all horror fans either, the kills are few & far between & are light in the blood department & the climax feels rushed. All in all though this is a pretty decent movie, the actors are really good & believable in their roles & the direction is good. So sad there hasn’t been a Voodoo 2 yet, oh well you never know.
