Childhood friends try to rekindle their friendship during a weekend in the mountains. Soon the women get lost and now, alone and hungry, they must battle the elements, each other, and an unforeseen force that is determined to stop them from leaving.
Filmmaker Lou Simon’s latest horror, thriller, action, and drama film ALL GIRLS WEEKEND will be available on VOD July 12th. The film is an all female cast starring Jamie Bernadette, Katie Carpenter, Gema Calero, Karishma Lakhani, and Sharron Calvin. “It’s an all-female cast, a homage to one of my favorite horror films “The Descent,” says Simon.
ALL GIRLS WEEKEND is much more than a girls’ in the woods horror. There’s no killer or monster lurking in the woods. It’s a survival horror film with a supernatural twist with a powerful message from Mother Nature.
In fact, Mother Nature had an impact on the filming, the ALL GIRLS WEEKEND cast and crew powered through some severe weather conditions. Simon had some difficulty getting a cast that was willing to work in the harsh weather, but the actresses in ALL GIRLS WEEKEND were tough and determined as they braved the conditions during filming as Simon shares, “I let everyone know in advance that we would be filming outdoors, in freezing temperatures; they would need to do some zip lining, and they would need to rough it as we would be in the middle of nowhere. I didn’t sugar coat it at all, but the reality was even worse. We got the coldest weather that we had experienced in Atlanta all winter during those weeks of filming, and we had to film through rain, sleet, and snow.”
