As a kid, Dave Zani would use his father’s high-8 video camera and make movies with his action figures and make videos for his school projects because it was easier for him. He’s always had an outstanding talent in the visual arts and utilized his skills by getting involved in the visual effects and animation fields. Some of his work can be experienced in video games,including MAX PAYNE 3 and GRAND THEFT AUTO V.
Zani comes highly recommended from clients for his writing, editing, directing, and animation. Whether it’s for a business video, children show, short film, or full feature film, Zani and his company Old Mill Entertainment has a vast and diverse experience in all fields on all levels.
When it comes to movies, Zani is a fan of Comedy, Horror, and Sci-Fi. He’s also passionate about History, Architecture, and Nature. In recent years, he took his skills to a new level and started making full feature films. Two feature films in one year is an impressive accomplishment for filmmakers and Zani did just that with his SHARK BABES and SCARED TOPLESS, that he produced, wrote, and casted. How did it go for him making two feature films in one year?“Straight away Scared Topless was a huge success for the company and we acted fast to get another film out there! Now we are creating a new project that is taking way more time and money to develop but will be way more involved!”
Zani was dedicated to making a successful B Movie, so he brought on board the legendary B Movie director Jim Wynorski to direct both the films.
“I became a fan of Jim and Roger Corman years ago. I had written Jim a letter and became pen pals with him,” Zani shares. “I would watch his films and send him questions on how he made them. We became real-life friends and I worked on a few of his projects (while I was working as an animator at Rockstar Games) I saw the opportunity to create one of my own low budget erotic films for cable and hired Jim to direct and help me. He became a mentor and I learned so much from him.”
