Nickelodeon has been entertaining all ages for decades and currently they reach over 92 million households. Over the years Nick has provided hundreds of Nicktoons, movies, game shows, live-action, award shows, special events such as Slimefest and NASCAR events and they also had their own radio station and magazine. To keep fans updated with everything going on, Nickelodeon is one of the most active in the social media world. Two people hard at work keeping fans updated on social media sites such as Facebook and Instagram are Carly Kaplan and Tarreyn Van Slyke. With all of Carly and Tarreyn’s experience and Nicknowledge, it’s only fitting that they created their own show Inside Nick, that goes behind the scenes of many popular Nickelodeon shows. Carly and Tarreyn are passionate about their Inside Nick and find the time and energy despite their responsibility of providing the branding, creative content and strategy for Nick’s social media being an endless job.
Carly originally is from Dallas, Texas and has a BA in Film Production and Marketing Communications from Emerson College. She started at Nickelodeon in 2015 and has worked on the popular Nick shows Bunsen is a Beast, The Fairly OddParents, and Pig Goat Banana Cricket, just to name a few. She shares about starting at Nick and her friendship with Tarreyn, “Tarreyn and I became best friends as soon as we met,” tells Carly. “We’re very similar and have strong acting and digital backgrounds. “Inside Nick” is special because it combines all of our talents. When you watch you can really see how much we love doing this.” For much more information about Carly including all her work and social sites, go to her website www.carlykaplancreative.com
With a degree from the University of Arizona, Tarreyn has worked on Nickelodeon shows The Loud House and Harvey Beaks, as well as being a writer, photographer, and content creator. She shares what brought her to Nick and about her job there, “I had been a stage actor for years before entering the world of blogging and social media. My love of entertainment and digital media created a natural trajectory for me ending up at Nickelodeon. “Inside Nick” is another incredibly exciting extension of all that, especially getting to collaborate with Carly, it’s such an amazing and fun experience.” Go to www.tarreynvanslyke.com to see Tarreyn’s writing, portfolio, and so much more.
