The Greatest Event of The Year, The B Movie Celebration

The 7th Annual B-Movie Celebration at Hollywood Boulevard Cinema in Woodridge, IL was, in my opinion, the greatest event of the year. On arriving, Hollywood Blvd Cinema blew me away with its decor and movie memorabilia. Then, walking down the ‘Hollywood Boulevard’ with movie posters and film stars lining the walls and a different film-themed theater to the left and right of me, my little heart was racing like a school-girl. Finally, I made it to one of the theaters and my B-Movie Odyssey began with Jim Wynorski’s LOST EMPIRE!!! I’ll have a full review soon but I can tell you right now this is a movie you have to see to believe. From that moment on I was in, for lack of a better term, a state of euphoria. Full-length films, shorts, trailers, the directors themselves introducing the films and, in Fred Olen Ray’s case, shouting out commentary during his great film ARMED RESPONSE!!! Then it was back to the scary, stinky hotel room to re-energize with summer sausage and sleep, and get ready for Saturday which was even more amazing! Getting to talk to filmmakers Fred Olen Ray, Jim Wynorski, Kevin Tenney, David “Rock” Nelson and Super-fans like blogmaster Kevin Bachelder was nothing short of fantastic. These guys love what they do and it shows. I was amazed by every aspect of this event and I sincerely thank Bill Dever and all the filmmakers for making such an unforgettable weekend possible! LONG LIVE B-MOVIES!!!
